About

markavis.org is a place where people who share classical liberal values can come together. It is not a partisan space and welcomes conservatives/liberals, Labour/National, Tory/Labour. Nevertheless, it is a space aimed at anyone who respects the institutions of liberal democracy and, crucially, the classical liberal values that have allowed liberal democracies to endure and flourish. We may disagree on many issues of policy, for example, the size of government, but should put those disagreements to one side for the time being. There are far more fundamental challenges that are confronting the Western liberal democracies, and these include erosion from within with the rise of Wokism, and challenges from without from China, and to a lesser extent, Russia.
